Unhealthy Habits

All of us want to keep ourselves healthy and all of will surely avoid a habit that we know can cause health problems not just at present time but even in the future. But we need to know first which of these habits are bad for our health. We can already be doing unhealthy habits without knowing it and we could already be entitled to diseases in the future or already having one right now.

One unhealthy habit I know that has a terrible effect is cigarette smoking. Quitting smoking could be the healthiest thing you could do right now besides exercise if you are a smoker. Cigarette smoking has been linked to many diseases. These include heart attacks, strokes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, certain cancers, and so on. Acupuncture is known to help certain people to quit smoking and this could also be of use to you.

Not getting enough sleep or always staying up late at night is also a bad habit. This can cause you to be in a state of stress or exhaustion. Stress itself has detrimental effects to the body. The experts say we need at least 7 hours of sleep. Getting enough sleep, which can vary depending on the age, is important to avoid stress. Exercise can always help you get enough sleep at night and maybe even drinking 12 ounces of alcohol will suffice.

Drinking too much coffee can also be bad for your health, caffeine intake must always be controlled and minimized as to too much of it will have bad effects on your body.

Having an unhealthy diet can also have detrimental effects on your health. If you just eat whatever you like, then it is time for you to be health conscious about the foods you eat.

Unhealthy habits are all around us, all we need to do is to recognize and avoid them. Remember that your health should be your primary concern and if you know that a certain habit is bad for your health then you should give it up now.
